The low budget Indian Tablet Aakash is getting its successor this April of 2012. Human Resources Development Minister of India Kapil Sibal said during Question Hour in Lok Sabha yesterday. Its costs as low as $40 and sports a 7" capacitive touch screen while its predecessor featured a resistive touchscreen which was hard to use in a tablet on my opinion.
Its is powered by a 700MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor whereas the former one had a 366MHz ARM 11 Processor and also has WiFi and GPRS feature. It has a 3200mAh battery that will allow you to use it for around 3hrs. The tablet will probably run on Android 2.3 though the version has not been confirmed yet. It is reported that DataWind is expected to supply around 1 lakh tablets and move on further to be available for all students in India.
