Yes! you heard it! A Microsoft representative confirmed that there will NOT be a revelation of the new Xbox hardware at the Electronics Entertainment Expo(E3) conducted by Gamespot every year.
There has been much speculation about when would the next generation of consoles would release. Well, almost all game fanatics expected some new hardware to be revealed at E3. The bad news is it won't be from Microsoft.
No revelation about the next Xbox at E3 |
Microsoft had a great year in its Xbox field as the company revealed that it sold a whooping 426,000 Xbox units worldwide in February 2012 alone, which, for the record, is the most selling console for the 14th straight month.
Despite that, Microsoft revealed that this year's E3 will be "all about Xbox 360" and that "there would not be any talk about the new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon"
All said, this is a bit of a disappointment for gamers who were anticipating much news from the next generation consoles. There were rumours about the configuration, storage capabilities, release date and price. In addition to all that, it was suggested that the next Xbox was in development under the code name "Durango" since a Crytek developer tweeted as "attending Durango Developers Conference" a while ago. Well, to all those fans, this year is not the year. Stay tuned for updates!
