England’s ‘Stand in captain’ Scott Parker is confident that his first season at Spurs will finish in success as he targets Champions League qualification and an FA Cup final appearance.
Parker, 31, has previously played with Charlton, Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham. However, he has never won a domestic trophy . Parker is aiming to put that right with a triumphant FA Cup campaign, which will start with an emotional re-match against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday.
Tottenham have hit a period of poor form lately, including defeats to Everton, which has coincided with an upturn in form for Arsenal, who have piled up a straight seven league wins. This has seen Tottenham slip to fourth in the table and are in real danger of losing grip on the final Champions League qualifying berth.
Parker acknowledged the lack of form when speaking to The Mirror, however, he maintained confidence that his side have enough about them to secure Champions League qualification. Whilst admitting concern over the recent poor form Parker insists that performances have still been good and that there is no reason to think Tottenham won’t keep ticking-over.
