Lewis Hamilton and McLaren Mercedes had an awesome day in the office with a pivotal first and second positions for tomorrow's crunching season opener in Melbourne.
The Red Bulls couldn't match the pace set by the McLaren's, with the pole man Lewis Hamilton leading the charts with 1:24.992 secs and his team mate Jenson Button 0.152 secs adrift. But the surprise lies here. The Bulls couldn't even get the second row. It was the French Rookie Romain Grosjean and Micheal Schumacher who acquired third and fourth positions for tomorrow's showpiece event.
The Bulls aligned fifth and sixth with the defending champion Sebastian Vettel edging his team mate Mark Webber. Ferrari duo lined up twelfth and sixteenth, a bit surprise for the Italian based team.
Kimi Raikonnen and Nico Rosberg lined up seventh and seventeenth. The Force India qualified in ninth and fifteenth positions with the rest of the pack lining behind them.
